The Europe version of the HTC Sensation handset has got Android Gingerbread firmware update in last week. Now it’s U.S. based T-Mobile’s customers turn. T-Mobile has officially announced that it has started rolling out the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update for its HTC Sensation 4G handsets. Along with the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread flavor, the biggest improvement to the device is the ability of the Google Talk with video and voice chat. Yes ! This update should add should add video calling capability through Google Talk and the front-facing camera. Here’s what you can expect to find in the update once the handset has upgraded with the new firmware update, which happens to be build number 1.45.531.1:

The update will come over-the-air (OTA), that means you’ll receive a notification on your phone that the update is available. Then you’ll be able to choose to download and install it. The rollout may take a few weeks for it to reach your particular device.
If the update hasn’t yet hit your handsets, then you’ll be able to get it manually. You can check for the OTA update by going into your Settings menu –> About Phone –> HTC Software Update –> Hit the Check button. This process should initiate the upgrade process and follow the on-screen instruction to finish the download and installation process till the phone reboots. Now the firmware version of tour HTC Sensation 4G handset should be shown as Android 2.3.4 / software version 1.45.531.1.
