Huawei to Announce Windows Phone 8 Smartphone (Ascend W1), Tablet on Sept. 25 [Rumor]

Customers and vendors are excited to hear the announcement of Windows Phone 8 by Microsoft. After this announcement, Huawei revealed that it had partnered with Microsoft to offer a new Smartphone later this year. A new rumor reveals that Huawei is going to announce its new Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Ascend W1, at a press conference on 25th September.

The detailed Price and full specification of the phone is still not available. But it is expected to compete with Nokia Lumia 920.

Huawei’s Ascend W1 is likely to be available in black, white, blue and pink colors later this year in Europe, China, and the United States with other markets to follow. It is going to be marketed through a series of activities in co-ordination with key mobile operators around the world.

“2012 is building up to be a great year for Huawei. Now, we are poised to end the year with a big bang – with the introduction of our first smartphone running on the Windows Phone platform,” said Shao Yang, Huawei’s chief marketing officer. “We’re very excited about this relationship with Microsoft which will enable us to provide our customers with a bigger array of Huawei smartphone choices.”

This year, the Chinese company Huawei is trying to increase its popularity and presence in the competitive mobile landscape by spending $200 million on advertising their products to boost brand awareness.

With a reference to a report from Reuters, the Chinese company may also manufacture a Windows 8 tablet computer.
