Huawei Ascend W1 Gets China Certification

If the latest certification filing is any indication, Huawei Ascend W1 could be making its way to Chinese markets very soon. Huawei has received certification in China for its Ascend W1 handset with CDMA 2000 network support. Recently, we reported that Huawei executive Richard Yu confirmed to unveil its first Windows Phone 8 handset – Ascend W1 at CES 2013 event early next January.

Huawei-made Ascend W1 i budget priced mid-range spec’d Windows Phone, that uses a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, and it will sport a 4-inch WVGA display, 4GB onboard storage, 5MP rear-facing shooter, microSD card slot for memory expansion support, 2,000mAh battery, and all the regular feeding of a Windows Phone. The Ascend W1 will likely run Windows Phone 8 OS when Huawei announces it. It is also expected to ship in two colours, and it may also get some removable covers.

Huawei-Ascend-Mate-LeakA few days ago, Huawei Chairman of devices showed off the 6.1-inch Ascend Mate over-sized Android phablet and it will pack 1080p resolution with 361PPI, , a 1.8GHz quad-core K3V3 processor, a 4000mAh battery, 9.9 mm frame, Ascend Mate will be unveiled at CES 2013 along with 5-inch Ascend D2 handset. Ascend D2 features a 5-inch 1080p display, 13MP shooter on back side, 2GB RAM, 1.5GHz quad-core chip, and 3000mAh battery.

We are not sure whether or not the aforementioned Huawei phones will ever launch on any of the 4 major U.S. carriers.
