Huawei P60 Pro renders leak confirm new camera module

Huawei is set to launch a slew of new devices sometime in March, the least known is Huawei P60 Pro, which has now appeared in high-resolution renders. Huawei is expected to launch two flagship series this year – Huawei P60, and Huawei Mate 60. The manufacturer will focus on photography with P60 lineup, while the latter will have the latest technological innovations.

The renders of the Huawei P60 Pro shared by reputable prototype designer HoiINDI on Twitter reveal the curved edge screen and an attention grabbing periscope camera.

If the renders are anything to go by, we see a prominent vertical camera module in the upper left corner of the phone’s rear panel. The periscope camera can also be spotted in the camera setup, along with an LED flash. The render also shows the XMAGE branding (Huawei’s in-house imaging brand) on the camera module.

Specs wise, the Huawei P60 Pro is expected to carry a 6.6-inch OLED panel carrying a QHD+ resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It has an under-screen fingerprint scanner. Latest rumors are claiming that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 5G radio, although previous rumors suggested it will draw its powers from a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. We have to wait for the official launch to learn what exactly Huawei is planning for the device in this regard.

The chipset will be paired up with 12GB LPDDR 4S RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage for better performance, while it will be backed up by a 5000 mAh capacity battery with support for a 100W ultra-fast charge rate. The device will also have 50W wireless charging capability onboard.

For photography, the Huawei P60 Pro will reportedly feature a 50MP primary camera with Sony IMX858 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX858 sensor, and a 64MP telephoto camera with OmniVision OV64B sensor. Up front, it trades a front-facing 32MP camera will to take selfies and handle video chats. The device also has typical IP68 rating certification for water/dust resistance, while it can be submerged in fresh water up to a depth of nearly 5 feet for 30 minutes without being damaged. It ships preinstalled with Android 13 based Harmony OS 3.0 OS out of the box.

The Huawei P60 series will be offered in four versions including Huawei P60 Pro, P60, P60E and P60 Ultra. We will know more details in the coming days. Stay tuned.
