This revolutionary capability is made possible by a combination of advanced technologies, such as the security module, NFC communication capabilities, power status sensing, and smart interaction technologies.
By incorporating this cutting-edge technology, users can make payments easily and conveniently by simply tapping their phones together, without the need for electricity. To provide a secure environment for digital RMB no-power payments, Huawei has implemented several measures, by adding an additional layer of security for digital RMB transactions. Users can manage transaction risks by setting limits on the number of no-power payments and enabling password-free payments for small amounts.
If the number of no-power payments exceeds the user’s set limit, the payment cannot be processed, and if the amount paid exceeds the password-free limit, the user must verify the payment password on the receiving device during the transaction. This ensures that only authorized transactions are processed and helps prevent fraudulent activity.
For users who are particularly concerned about the risk of funds, the Huawei P60 series provides additional options to enhance their security. These users can choose not to enable small-amount password-free payments and instead verify their password on the merchant’s point-of-sale (POS) machine before making a payment.
Furthermore, if a user loses their phone, they can log in to the digital RMB app on another phone and disable the no-network and no-power payment function to prevent unauthorized access to their funds. This provides an additional level of security and control for users, giving them the peace of mind they need when making mobile payments.
At present, the digital RMB no-power payment feature is supported by the Huawei P60, Huawei P60 Pro, and Huawei P60 Art smartphones. In the future, this feature will be gradually rolled out to other Huawei smartphone models.
To set up digital RMB no-power payment, users need to activate the Huawei wallet hard wallet feature in the digital RMB app and follow the Payment Settings to enable the No-Network and No-Power Payment Switch. Once enabled, users can make no-power payments simply by tapping their phone on another device that supports digital RMB payments.
