Manufacturers like HTC, Nokia and Samsung have already launched Windows Phone 8 handsets. Now it’s turn for Huawei, one of Microsoft’s partner, a Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company. Chinese networking sites have been reporting that Huawei is developing its first Windows Phone 8 handset. There is news that the Ascend W1 with Windows Phone 8 will be available by the end of the year, of course this may seem a bit surprising, since the Chinese company hasn’t made any Windows Phone so far.

The Ascend W1 is rumored to be unveiled tomorrow, 25th September at an expected price of 2,000 RMB ($310).

However, the technical specs of the phone is not yet known. Chinese website winp further reports that Huawei is expected to ship the device before year end, between November and December. Huawei sources claimed that they are testing the WP8 systems engineering prototype. It was also informed that the device will use a different design than what Huawei is creating for its Android Ascend P1 and D1 lineup.

The Ascend W1 will be available in four colors: black, white, blue and pink. The phone is also expected to be available in Europe, China and the United States and will be targeted at more budget customers.
