iPhone 16 Pro to Boast Record-Breaking Screen Size, ProMotion Reserved for ‘Pro’ Devices

iPhone 16 Pro Display Rumors

Apple has ambitious intentions for the display technology implemented in its forthcoming iPhone models. Analyst Ross Young recently disclosed a roadmap revealing that Apple intends to enlarge the screen dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro series in the coming year. Simultaneously, the company plans to modify the aspect ratio, rendering the devices taller and slimmer in appearance.

As per Young’s analysis, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro is expected to sport a 6.27-inch display, while the larger variant, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, is projected to boast a 6.86-inch display. Notably, the aspect ratio of these devices is anticipated to be 19.6:9, which represents a slight shift from the aspect ratio of the previous iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 lineups, which featured an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

This implies that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will showcase expanded screen sizes, achieved by increasing the height of the devices rather than widening them. This information is consistent with a report from 9to5Mac, which surfaced earlier this month and relied on leaked CAD files obtained from Apple’s supply chain.

While the modifications mentioned earlier will be specific to the iPhone 16 Pro lineup, it is expected that these changes will gradually extend to the non-Pro models as well. This transition is anticipated to commence with the release of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus in 2025.

Indeed, it is always crucial to approach rumors and leaks with a degree of skepticism. While the details surrounding the upcoming iPhone displays indicate that Apple is exploring such developments, it’s important to note that plans can be subject to change due to various factors such as supply chain disruptions or other unforeseen circumstances. As with any pre-release information, it’s wise to await official announcements from Apple for accurate and confirmed details about their future products.
