The folks over PocketNow have got a hold of a leaked roadmap of the upcoming handsets from LG for the year 2011. LG is already having the awesome Optimus 3D handset, and recently we’ve seen the LG Optimus Net from the most popular LG Optmus One line. According to this leaked roadmap, LG is going to release both the entry level smartphones, and high-end spec’d smartphones. The leak consists of 7 handsets, named as “LG Prada K2”, “LG Univa”, “LG Victor”, “LG U2”, “LG Gelato”, “LG K”, and Windows Phone 7 OS powered “LG Fantasy”. We also have the rendered images of these handsets. Let’s go through these upcoming and unannounced handsets one by one.
LG Prada K2
You might be aware of the LG Prada, LG Prada II handsets, which were released in 2007, 2009 respectively. After almost 2 years, LG is bringing another handset from the Prada series, and it is going to be called as LG Prada K2, and it seems to be having powerful hardware, and all the high-end specifications. Measuring at 8.8mm thickness, the LG Prada K2 is going to be shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on board, 4.3-inch NOVA LCD display, HSPA+ connectivity feature. It is also having a dual-core application processor, 1.3 megapixel camera on top of the front-side of the device. There is also a 8 megapixel camera on the back side. Look for it in this holiday season.
The LG Victor is an entry-level spec’d smartphone, equipped with a 3.8-inch OLED display, 1Ghz application processor, dual-cameras – 5 megapixel rear & VGA front-facing cameras, Wi-Fi direct functionality, and running with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on the board.
LG Victor should be outed in this quarter. So, expect an official announcement soon.
The LG Univa looks to be Optimus One replacement as a middle-of-the-road device, Univa is going feature 3.5-inch HVGA display, powered by 800MHz single-core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera, DLNA functionality. It will be running with Android Gingerbread OS, packed in 11.9 mm thick body.
We have already knew about the LG Gelato handset, which has been teasing us in the names of LG Optimus Slider, as well as LG Gelato Q, and prepping to launch on Sprint air waves. Google things is that it is going to ship with NFC (near Field Communication) feature, and it is surprising too. It has got a 3.2-inch display, 800MHz chipset, 3 megapixel camera, and running with an unknown version of Android OS. The leak hasn’t confirmed about the inclusion of QWERTY keyboard for LG Gelato.
According to a previous leak, the LG Gelato is set to launch on September 11th by Sprint.
The LG E2 is going to be low-range spec’d smartphone, and should be released as pre-pay device. It is going to be equipped with a basic camera, “sub-gigahertz” application processor, and running with Android OS. Other details are still scarce.
The leaked roadmap list has also included a Windows Phone, along with the Android powered handsets. LG Is prepping an handset called LG Fantasy, which should be having Windows Phone Mango OS. We don’t have any details regarding the technical specifications of this handset. Source says that the LG fantasy is supposedly coming in fourth quarter.
The details of the mysterious LG K handset are yet to be revealed out. But, it is going to have a huge 4.5-inch display, and a true 720p screen. According to the source, it will be LG P930. The operating system is also unknown, and the source haven’t provided any rendered image image for this handset.
