The rumors become true about this handset’s release date. Big Red network has just announced its next 4G LTE capable LG Revolution smartphone, and will hit the stores on May 26th, tomorrow with a price tag of $249.99 on a two year contract, matching the price tag of HTC Thuderbolt, and it is $50 cheaper than the latest Samsung Droid Charge. It’s the third 4G LTE capable super phone that can reach the speeds of up to 5-12Mbps down stream and the 2-5Mbps up stream.
The LG Revolution comes with the out-dated Android 2.2 Froyo OS but can be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 512MB RAM, and there is a 16GB pre-loaded micro-SD card for storage. The display is 4.3" with WVGA 800×480 resolution, it can record 720p HD video with its 5MP camera on its back, and users can make video calls using 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. There’s also an HDMI output to hook it to an HDTV screen, DLNA functionality, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, and users can rock Netflix (it’s a pre-installed app) videos on its 4.3-inch bigger screen and two more pre-installed apps are Let’s Golf 2 and Rock Band, Bing Search and Bing Maps apps.
It also features “Wireless Charging” – with the help of the Charging Battery Door Pad, users can charge 1500mAh battery in less than 4 hours. Supported video formats for playback will include DivX, WMP, MP4, 3GP/3G2, and there is a Dolby audio mode feature. Its Mobile Hotspot capability allows customers to share 4G LTE with up to 8 Wi-Fi-enabled devices or a 3G connection with up to 5 devices
