MetroPCS ZTE Avid 4G Up For Sale For $149 Off-Contract; Cheapest LTE Phone

ZTE Avid 4G for MetroPCS

MetroPCS has officially announced a new mid-range Android product ZTE Avid 4G, making it the cheapest 4G LTE handset to date. The carrier is now selling it for just $149.99 and you don’t need to sign any contracts with the network. Of course, if you are buying it, you will have to subscribe for any of MetroPCS’ standard 4G LTE service plans which range from $40 – $70 per month, and for a limited time with promotional plans including 4G LTE for $30 and unlimited 4G LTE for $55. In late November, we’ve already seen the leaked press shot of this handset. Earlier today, we’ve reported about the launch of the 5-inch ZTE U887 phablet with low-end specs and it is set for 2013 release.

ZTE Avid 4G is carrying low-to-mid range specifications. Here’s the list of the specs:

# Ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
# 4-inch WVGA display
# 1.2GHz dual-core processor
# 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash
# Front facing VGA camera for video calling
# 2.3GB onboard storage; microSD card slot support up to 32GB
# 4G LTE radio
