Motorola Droid 3

A few days ago, Motorola has launched the Motorola Droid 3 under the Milestone 3 moniker in China, which is basically the GSM version of the DROID 3, but the company has yet to officially introduce the Droid 3 in the U.S. Recently, we’ve seen the addition of the Motorola Droid 3 handset in Verizon’s MAP list along with the Motorola Xoom LTE tablet. Earlier rumors are suggesting that the Droid 3 will be hitting the U.S. markets starting July 15th, but the latest reports aren’t claiming the same date. According to a leaked memo of the Best Buy’s internal system, the big box retailer is set to have stock of the Droid 3 by July 13th, and the handset is supposedly to go for sale one day later on July 14th.

Obviously, The Droid 3 doesn’t have many secrets left after a string of appearances on Benchmark tests and China region launch. Some rumors are circling around the web that Droid 3 will be having the Tegra 2 processor under the hood, but it has been confirmed that it will be equipped with TI dual-core OMAP 4430 1GHz processor boosted with the PowerVR SGX 540 GPU. Recently AnandTech folks have gone through a GLBenchmark test on Droid 3 along with other powerful handsets HTC Sensation 4G, LG Optimus 2X, Droid X2, and etc., and this source has also revealed an OMAP 4430 dual-core processor for Droid 3.

Motorola Droid 3 will not feature Big Red network’s 4G LTE capability and it has got a 4-inch 960 x 540 pixel qHD display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS filling, an 8 megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p HD video, VGA front-facing camera for video calls, HDMI-out, an improved QWERTY-Slider 5-row keyboard with a dedicated number row, 16GB internal storage, and powered by a 1500mAh battery. Sadly, this handset is going to operated with 512MB RAM, instead of 1GB RAM.
