It’s official again. For once, there were rumors about the cancellation of the Motorola Droid Bionic handset, and later Motorola has confirmed that it is indeed launching this handset in this summer with a different form factor, updated hardware & software, and it will be something we’ve never seen before. The manufacturer has confirmed that the new Droid Bionic is on its way to Verizon this summer. Droid Bionic was officially presented at this year’s CES 2011 January event, and after seven months, now Verizon Wireless has also officially confirmed that it is still on track for this summer release, and dedicated an official sign-up page for Motorola Droid Bionic 4G handset on its website, tagged with Coming This Summer title. A few days ago, we were hearing the rumors about the release date of Droid Bionic could be August 4th according to a leaked memo. We’ve already reported that Motorola Droid Bionic with an LTE radio has recently been blessed by the FCC.
Needless to say, the Motorola Droid Bionic 4G is a beast of an Android phone. According to the previous leaks, the ‘new’ Droid Bionic 4G handset will be featuring Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS, a bigger 4.5-inch qHD screen with 450 X 854 pixels of resolution, 3D Blur UI, webdock support, 1GHz dual-core CPU, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video recording, and an additional front facing camera to make video calls.
