Verizon remains mum about the release date of the newly launched Motorola Droid XYBOARD tablets, otherwise known as the Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition tablets. According to a leaked memo from Droid-Life, both tablets will be available to purchase from December 12th. That’s if we believe the latest leak regarding the availability of Verizon’s, December 12 is in six short days.

Both the Motorola Droid XYBOARD 10.1 and XYBOARD 8.2 tablets are pretty similar to one another, having dual core 1.2GHz TI processors, different sized IPS displays with 1280 X 800 resolution. Each tablet features a 5-megapixel main camera in addition to a 1.3-megapixel front-facer, equipped with 1GB of RAM, have 16GB internal flash storage, MotoCast app, Digit app, and both will arrive running Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass and protected by a water-repellent coating. An update roll out of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS will happen in the near future.

The Moto Droid XYBOARD 10.1 will come in three models: 16GB for $530, 32GB for $630, and 64GB for $730. The Droid XYBOARD 8.2 will be available in two models: 16GB for $430 and 32GB for $530.
