The Moto X40 unveiled in China in December 2022 will take the next step towards global launch in the coming days. It will be launched the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in the international markets. The waiting for the official launch seems to be finally over, as press renders leaked online.
A bunch of press renders of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro have been leaked yesterday, so you can take a look at the smartphone in all its glory. Thanks to the well known leakster @evleaks. As per these images, the global variant is identical to its Chinese variant without any changes. One of these images shows confirmed that the Edge 40 Pro will be a water-resistant device.
Motorola Edge 40 Pro Specs
This handset also should come with similar specifications as the X 40, which is currently going on sale in China. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro’s dimensions will be 161.3×73.9×8.5mm. It will have a 6.67-inch (2400x1080px) OLED screen with an embedded fingerprint sensor and centered hole-punch for the selfie camera. The display has 165Hz refresh rate, DC dimming, and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The rear panel of the phone, made of metal glass, is home to a triple camera setup inside an island. The primary shooter uses OIS-enabled 50MP f/1.9 1/1.55″ Omnivision OV50A sensor, with the rest said to be 50MP 117° f/2.2 ultra-wide autofocus camera with Samsung S5KJN1 sensor, 2.5cm macro option, and 12MP 2X portrait f/1.6 telephoto camera with IMX663 sensor. On the front, it has a huge 60MP selfie camera with f/2.2 feature.
Inside, it has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is coupled with the faster 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage.
The device has a USB-C port at the bottom, and rest of the features are including 5G, Dual 4G LTE, BT 5.3, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax, and it will be fueled by a 4,600mAh battery, which has support for 125W TurboPower fast charging speeds, and 15W wireless charging speeds, as well as 15W reverse charging speed.
The exact launch date is unknown yet, but it is rumored to go for sale priced at 849 euros in the European market. To recall, the previous-gen Motorola edge 30 Pro was released in February 2022 for the global markets. So we can expect the Edge 40 Pro to launch sometime this March.
