Motorola has expanded its “G” series with the unveiling of the new moto g72 in India. This budget friendly handset is powered by the MediaTek g99 SoC, packs a bigger pOLED FHD+ screen, and runs Android 12 OS out of the box. Motorola promised this 4G-only device will get one full-fledged OS update and 3 years of security updates.
Looks wise, the moto g72 is somewhat looking identical to the recently launched Edge 30 series of smartphones. The moto g72 comes wiht a 6.6-inch 120Hz refresh rated pOLED FHD+ centered punch-hole display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 10-bit color depth. It delivers HDR10, DCI-P3 color gamut, up to 576Hz touch sampling rate, and ThinkShield protection.
It naturally boots Android 12 stock OS with Motorola’s My UX skin on top, powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core chipset paired with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB uMCP storage. It has triple camera system on back side – 108MP primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide unit + 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, video calling purpose, there is a 16MP camera on front side of the device.
It also features a fingerprint sensor underneath it. It carries all the regular features of an Android phone such as IP52-rating splash resistance, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual microphones, NFC, USB Type-C, and it also has Dolby Atmos-supported tuned dual stereo speakers. moto g72 weighs 166g and it ships with a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for 33W fast wired charging.
