Motorola ‘Razr 40’ and ‘Razr 40 Ultra’ names Confirmed in EU Pricing Leak

Motorola is gearing up for the release of its upcoming foldable smartphones, and the latest leaks are providing more information. There have been numerous rumors about the upcoming foldable phone from Motorola, with some calling it the Razr 2023, while others have referred to it as the Razr+. The latest leak, however, suggests another name for the device – the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.

After leaked images surfaced yesterday, fresh details about Motorola’s upcoming foldable phones include the name “Razr 40,” as well as indications of pricing.

Evan Blass, who leaked the images of the upcoming Motorola Razr phones yesterday, has provided further details about the devices. According to Blass, the new foldables will be part of the “Motorola Razr 40” series, which will consist of the previously rumored “Razr Lite” or “Razr 40” and the “Razr 40 Ultra.”

Motorola’s new naming strategy for its upcoming foldable phones, the Motorola Razr 40 series, follows the company’s international flagship naming pattern. This aligns with the recent launch of the “Edge 40 Pro” and the expected launch of the “Ultra” model. However, it is uncertain if these will be the official names in the United States, where Motorola often uses simpler branding.

There have been additional leaks with further information about Motorola’s upcoming foldable smartphones. Yesterday’s leak revealed a live image of the higher-end Razr device in a previously unknown red color option, which has also been spotted with dual-tone design in previous leaks.

Saminsider, a popular tech website, recently discovered the Moto Razr 40 Ultra listed on a European retailer’s website, which revealed international pricing for the device. The website listed the phone in “Glacier Blue,” “Viva Magenta,” and “Phantom Black” color options.

A European retailer’s website has listed the Moto Razr 40 Ultra with a price tag of around EUR 1200 ($1332) for its 8GB+256GB variant, according to reports. This puts it slightly higher than its rival, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which costs EUR 1159 in Europe for the same configuration. The retailer only lists a single storage configuration, but it’s possible that there will be additional storage options available at the time of launch, though this has not been confirmed.

Based on the European pricing for the Moto Razr 40 Ultra, it is estimated to cost around $1,300 in the US, which is actually down from the last Razr’s pricing. However, it is important to note that pricing can vary between regions due to various factors such as taxes, tariffs, and distribution costs. Furthermore, Motorola may adjust the pricing to remain competitive in the US market, where the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is priced at $999.
