T-Mobile branded HTC-made myTouch 4G Slide handsets users now have a reason to get excited. Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS is set to arrive on your handset in the coming months. If you can’t wait for it, here we got a solution for you. An alpha release – custom build of Android Ice Cream Sandwich ROM is now available to download and flash it on HTC myTouch 4G Slide handset. It is a very clean, and fairly stable ROM pulled out from Android ICS AOSP code. As it is alpha release, you shouldn’t expect the all features to work full fledged. Here is the list of the feature that are working:

# Camera.
# Face Unlock.
# Call voice, SMS, (havent tried MMS, please check someone).
# Keyboard, hw keyboard rotation, softkeyboard when slided back — only with the fixes flashed found in the UPDATES part, this post.
# 3D
# SMP architecture (Scoring 59 FPS on nenamar2 here on stock speed)
# Audio
# Wi-Fi
# Mobile data
# Bluetooth (at least i’ve tested BT stereo audio and avrc)
# SDCard
# Market

So most of the feature are working. It’s good sign to let you to proceed to flash this ROM on your handset.

A set of main features are still not running including – Camcorder, Accelerometer, FM Radio, USB Storage, Tethering, LED Notification, Keyboard Light.

How To Install Android ICS ROM

# Don’t forget to take a full backup of the handset. Data will be wiped out.
# Use latest CWM recover and have S-Off.
# Copy the download file to microSD card.
# Install the file.
# After first boot, RESTART the device to let Wi-Fi / media scan (music) to work.
