During the WiMA NFC event in Monaco, Nokia has officially announced the NFC-capable version of the Nokia Lumia 610 handset. The Nokia Lumia 610 NFC is the same version of the original Lumia 610 handset, which has been announced at MWC 2012 event this year, except the NFC (Near Field Communication) chip. This handset could be the first ever Windows Phone to release with NFC capabilities. Nokia Lumia 610 NFC handset will bring the contactless payments via Mastercard Paypass and you can stream music to an NFC-enabled wireless speaker, plus it can perform all the other usual NFC interactions.
Nokia Lumia 610 NFC handset will be able to pair with NFC accessories and read NFC tags with a single tap and it has also support for NFC payments and ticketing solutions. Nokia has mentioned that the handset “certified for contactless payments both with MasterCard for their PayPass solution, and with Visa’s mobile application for payments at the point of sale, Visa payWave.”
Orange will be the first carrier to launch the Nokia Lumia 610 NFC handset early in the 3rd quarter of this year. Nokia hasn’t announced the price tag info of the handset yet. Check out the sneak peek video if the NFC-enabled version of the Lumia 610 handset here at below.
