Earlier this month, we’ve reported that a new firmware update roll out for the Nokia Lumia 800 handset in New Zealand. According to the users reports over at XDA Developers Forum, the same firmware update 1600.2487.8107.12070 is now rolling out in Singapore. According to the previous reports, the 12070 update aims to bring camera improvements including the “Smart group shot”, “Panorama”, “Action”, and “Self Timer” modes, but the latest update also aims to address the poor battery life issue.
Nokia has managed to fix the poor battery life issue by controlling screen-brightness and ~70 mA discharge when the handset sets in idle stage. The 12070 update also fixes the auto-white balance issue with the camera and improved audio for video recordings.
If you are the owner of a Nokia Lumia 800 handset living in Singapore, you can upgrade it to the new software version 1600.2487.8107.12070 by connecting your handset to a PC machine by using Zune software and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the upgrade process successfully.
