Nokia XR30 Rugged Phone is Coming, and Here’s What We Know

According to recent reports by Winfuture.de, HMD Global is said to be developing a durable smartphone similar to the Nokia XR20, which was unveiled in July of last year. The device was previously referred to as the Nokia Sentry 5G and is speculated to be released under the Nokia XR series or potentially labeled as the Nokia XR30. The press renders and essential specifications of the phone have been leaked by the publication.

Last year, HMD Global had accidentally leaked a roadmap that included the Nokia Sentry 5G. While not much was known about the device at that time, it was listed as an upcoming smartphone.

The upcoming Nokia XR 5G phone’s front design showcases a punch-hole display with prominent bezels. The overall aesthetics of the phone closely resemble earlier Nokia models. The device’s rugged characteristics comprise a sturdy housing that provides it with the ability to withstand impact and water damage, making it well-suited for individuals who partake in outdoor activities or are frequently on the move.

The leaked images of the upcoming durable smartphone from Nokia depict that it features a dual-camera setup along with a flash on the back, with the letters “XR” visible instead of the “Zeiss” branding which was present in the previous models. The replacement of the “Zeiss” branding is due to the conclusion of the partnership with the German camera brand.

The leaked roadmap reveals that the upcoming Nokia XR 5G will offer impressive specifications, including 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, ensuring efficient multitasking and sufficient storage for apps and media files. The phone is also expected to feature a powerful 4,600mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, allowing for quick and hassle-free charging.

On the rear, the Nokia XR 5G is rumored to feature a dual-camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, providing users with the versatility to capture stunning photos and videos in different settings. On the front, the phone is expected to sport a 16-megapixel selfie camera, allowing users to take sharp and detailed selfies.

The rugged phone’s design is expected to feature a punch-hole display with thick bezels, giving it a classic Nokia look. The rugged housing of the phone will make it shock and water-resistant, providing users with a phone that can withstand harsh outdoor conditions and daily wear and tear.

Although the exact pricing details of the Nokia XR 5G are yet to be confirmed, industry insiders predict that the phone may cost around $499, making it an affordable option for users seeking a rugged smartphone with impressive specifications.
