Invitations for its press event at this year’s Mobile World Congress expo by Nokia are rolling out to members of the press and tech community. The event takes place on Monday, February 25th in the city of Barcelona, Spain. The event will begin at 9:00.
At last year’s MWC event, the Finnish mobile maker unveiled the awesome Nokia 808 Symbian phone with 41MP Pureview Camera, as well as the Windows Phone 7.5 OS running Nokia Lumia 810 handset on February 27th, 2012. We are not sure what we can expect from Nokia this year, but recent rumors are pointing to new Windows Phone devices. Yes, the event might host something Lumia Windows Phones related, however.
We recently heard that Nokia is working a total of three Windows Phone 8 devices, which are set to be released later this year. AT&T is rumored to get a successor to last year’s Nokia Lumia 920, codenamed “Catwalk” and it is expected to pack a lighter aluminum body. We are also expected to see a PureView based Windows Phone with a 41 megapixel camera, and it is currently being referred as Project EOS. If the latest rumor is believable, Nokia will release a new Windows Phone for Verizon, codenamed “Laser”. That means, Verizon will finally get its exclusive edition of the Nokia Lumia 920 handset this year.
So, if the previous rumors and leaks become true, all the aforementioned rumored Nokia phones will definitely be the highlight of the event. Now tell us aren’t you excited about it? What would you like to see from Nokia at MWC trade show?
Save the date, folks!
