The SoC details of the phone were revealed through a now-deleted LinkedIn post, providing a sneak peek into the impressive hardware powering the upcoming Nothing smartphone.

As per a recent tweet from the renowned tipster Abhishek Yadav, it has been brought to our attention that the highly anticipated Nothing Phone 2 will be fueled by the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This news comes as a surprise to many, especially after our previous assumption that the device would be launched with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. 

We apologize for any confusion caused by our earlier statement. At the MWC expo, Nothing Phone 2’s announcement was brief and lacked detailed information, including the processor that will power the device. This news was hinted at during the Nothing Phone 2’s brief announcement at MWC 2023 expo about it will be having Snapdragon 8 Gen processor.

However, based on the prevalence of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in flagship Android devices, it was a logical assumption that the Nothing Phone 2 would feature it. Nevertheless, lex Katouzian, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile at Qualcomm, provided new insights by revealing that the upcoming phone will be equipped with the formidable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

At Snapdragon satellite launch, where Qualcomm mentioned that the X70 modem is the minimum requirement for their latest processor. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 comes with the X65 modem, which meets this requirement, making it a suitable choice for the Nothing Phone 2.

If this rumor turns out to be true, it would be interesting to see how the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 performs in the Nothing Phone 2 compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is still a very capable processor, featuring the X65 5G modem and support for LPDDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi 6, as well as supports high-quality displays, making it an excellent choice for a device as anticipated as the Nothing Phone 2. .
