If you are an owner of the Notion Ink Adam tablet, we’ve some juicy news for you. Back in December of 2011, we’ve seen an Alpha build of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS for the unique tablet, Notion Ink Adam. Yesterday, Notion Ink has released an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Beta build for Adam. The build was created by third party retailers, but according to the reports, the build is looking pretty nice and it’s running very smoothly

The official blog has confirmed the working features of Notion Ink Adam on this beta build of Android ICS:

# Better Graphics Acceleration.
# 3G is now working.
# YouTube HD.
# USB.
# HDMI out.
# Huge improvement in battery.
# Improved Wi-Fi connectivity.
# Improved sound quality.
# Fix for the Sleep bug.

As this is a beta ROM, all features won’t work, including camera, compass, light meter, microphone.

You can download the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Beta ROM and the required “Recovery” file for Notion Ink Adam tablet from the links provided here at below.

# Adam Beta Android 4.0 ICS (91.3MB).
# Update Recovery (4.2MB).

How To Install Android 4.0 ICS Beta TOM on Notion Ink Adam:

# Rename the downloaded update_recovery.zip file to “update.zip” (without quotes).
# Copy update.zip and adam_BetaICS.zip to the external sdcard.
# Start the tablet in recovery mode (Volume Up Key + Power Down on Eden OS/AlphaICS, check for beast ROM).
# Select “Apply External SDcard update.zip”  by using Volume Up/Down keys for navigation, second capacitive button for selection.
# After installing recovery image, reboot to recovery mode again.
# Wipe the data and select the option – “install zip from SD card”.
# Select second option “choose zip from SD Card”.
# Select adam_BetaICS.zip and Install it.
# Wipe the data and cache.
# Reboot the device.
# Done.
