Google Confirms Pixel 7a Launching in India on May 11

With the Pixel launch season and Google I/O 2023 event just around the corner, leaks have been keeping the hype alive for the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold. These leaks have been steadily revealing the specifications and bold color options of the upcoming devices. And now, to add to the excitement, we have the first official teaser of the Pixel 7a, which confirms that it will also be available in Indian stores.

Google India has officially announced that Indian consumers can expect to find the Pixel 7a available for purchase on Flipkart starting on May 11th, just one day after the device is expected to be officially announced. If the price is competitive, this could be an excellent opportunity for Indian consumers to snag a great deal on a high-quality smartphone.

Google has partnered with Flipkart in India to sell its budget Pixel phones, including the upcoming Pixel 7a. This is in line with the company’s previous strategy for selling Pixel phones in the country. Flipkart is one of the leading e-commerce platforms in India and is expected to offer attractive deals and discounts on the Pixel 7a to entice buyers. The Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series were also sold by Flipkart in India.

The Pixel 7a is expected to hit the US market with a price tag of $499, as per leaks. However, pricing information for India has not been revealed yet. A renowned tipster suggests that the Pixel 7a may cost between ₹47,000 to ₹48,000 in India. As the official release date in India is on May 11, we can expect to know more about the pricing of the phone in the coming days.

The Pixel 6a was launched in India for Rs. 43,999 ($538), and it’s expected that the Pixel 7a may cost around Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 48,000, with a potential price bump for this year’s phone. This estimate puts the budget Pixel closer to Rs. 49,999 ($611). However, it’s worth noting that the Pixel 6a received significant discounts a few months after its launch in India, making it more affordable and a better value proposition. Ideally, Google will price the Pixel 7a competitively right from the start, making it more accessible to Indian consumers.

The teaser image released by the company features a blurred render of the device, which appears to closely align with previously leaked renders. The post describes the device as “engineered by Google,” indicating that it will likely be a Pixel phone. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement and more details about the device’s features, specs, and pricing.

Based on the latest rumors, it seems that the Pixel 7a will come equipped with Google’s Tenso G2 SoC and a brand new 64-megapixel primary camera, both of which represent significant upgrades over last year’s 6a model.
