Plex for iOS app updated to 1.1 version and this major update brings more functionality, interface changes, AirPlay, universal features, TV out, and improved subtitle and audio stream selection support over 3G connection.
The updated Plex app can now avoid the CPU-intensive process or use an iOS-optimized technique, so that it can output the H.264 video over the air expeditiously and it can also deliver that content from iOS direct to your Apple TV. It brings the support for SSA, SRT, and SMI subtitles. Quality settings have extended up to 8 Mbps for transcoding. You can stream the goods over the Internet over 3G connection to the TV via AirPlay. Tuaw notes that “Plex 1.1 app will note what your Apple TV 2 can manage and only convert what needs to be converted, leaving other streams intact”.
You can download the Plex 1.1 for iOS app here at iTunes Store (hit the link) for $4.99. This app is applicable for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch devices running with iOS 3.1 or later. Plex for Mac can also be downloaded from here.
