Realme GT Neo 5 has 240W Charging, SD 8+ Gen 1 SoC, IMX890 OIS

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Explorer is currently holding the crown as the fastest charging smartphone, having support for 210W wired charging. That could change soon since Realme is preparing to launch the GT Neo 5 with 240W charging. This info has appeared in a leaked poster revealing its design and key specs.

The Chinese manufacturer will hold an event on January 5 in China at 2:30PM local time to launch the Realme GT Neo 5. As per the release poster shared by Weibo, we believe the GT Neo 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. For photography, it will be equipped with a Sony IMX890 primary camera, which has OIS capability.

Realme GT Neo 5 is expected to be offered in two battery models – the 240W variant will come with a 4,600 mAh cell, whereas the 150W model will have a 5,000 mAh battery. The 24W variant is said to be having Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC onboard at the helm, while the latter 150W model will be backed up by the Dimensity 8200 chipset, but we are yet to see convincing evidence about it.

Realme GT Neo 5’s other rumored specs are including a 6.7-inch OLED display that bears a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 2160Hz PWM dimming, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It should be booting with the Realme UI 4.0 OS with Android 13 goodies.

For video calling, it is likely to get a 16-megapixel front camera. There will be 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM, which could be paired up with up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Tune in to our homepage on January 5th for our detailed coverage of the Realme GT Neo 5 smartphone.
