In late June, Sprint has officially announced its next WiMAX capable handset, the Samsung Conquer 4G. But, we were missing the release date and price info. The carrier has just confirmed these details. Starting August 21st, the Samsung Conquer 4G will be available to purchase at Sprint’s stores, and third-party retail channels with a budget price tag of $99.99 on two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. The $99.99 price tag makes Samsung Conquer 4G, the cheapest 4G WiMAX capable phone to release on Sprint air waves till date.
Samsung Conquer 4G comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. 3.5” touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.2MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 2GB memory card inserted, microSD card slot to hold 32GB memory storage, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0, WiMAX support, Dual-Mode 3G/4G capability, 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capable, supporting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices on the Sprint 3G or 4G networks, pre-installed Sprint ID app.
Previous reports have suggested that it will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but we never got any glimpse of its keyboard in pics. The carrier haven’t mentioned the presence of the QWERTY keyboard in its press release either. So we can confirm that there is no QWERTY keyboard attached to it.
