Galaxy M54 goes official with a 108MP OIS camera, e-SIM support

Samsung Galaxy M54

Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy A54 5G, and now, just a few days later, they have quietly introduced the Galaxy M54. This new device appears to be an enhanced version of the A54, with some notable improvements.

The Galaxy M54, a new mid-range smartphone, has been released in the Middle East without much fanfare. This device boasts several improvements over the Galaxy A54 5G, including a higher-resolution primary camera and a larger battery. Despite these enhancements, Samsung has also retained some of the best features of the A54.

Galaxy M54 – Samsung’s First Mid-Range Phone with e-SIM Support

Samsung is known for its flagship smartphones, which include the Galaxy S-series and the Galaxy Z-series, both of which offer support for eSIM connectivity. This feature is typically considered a premium offering, as only a select few smartphones currently support eSIM. However, Samsung is now expanding its eSIM support to mid-range phones.

The newly launched Samsung Galaxy M54 5G smartphone is the first mid-range device from the company to feature support for eSIM connectivity. This is a significant development, as it means that more consumers will have access to this advanced feature without having to purchase a high-end device.

It’s worth noting that, like other Samsung phones with eSIM, the Galaxy M54 5G also includes a physical SIM card slot. This provides users with the flexibility to choose between an eSIM or physical SIM, depending on their preferences and needs. In contrast, the iPhone 14 lineup in the US does not include a physical SIM card slot, making eSIM the only option for connectivity.

Taking a closer look at its specifications, the Galaxy M54 boasts a stunning 6.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and an impressive refresh rate of 120 Hz. Driving this device is the Exynos 1380 chipset, which is coupled with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage.

The device also features a top-of-the-line 108 MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro shooter. On the front, the device houses a 32 MP sensor that is sure to capture stunning selfies.

The device is powered by a massive 6,000 mAh battery, which can be charged rapidly using the 25W wired charging technology. In addition, the device supports a range of connectivity options, including GPS, sub-6GHz 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

When compared to the Galaxy A54, the M54 offers several improvements, including a larger 6.7-inch display compared to the A54’s 6.4-inch screen. The main camera on the M54 is also significantly upgraded, with a 108 MP sensor compared to the A54’s 50 MP camera. However, the ultrawide camera on the M54 has a lower resolution of 8 MP compared to the A54’s 12 MP lens, while the macro camera on the M54 also has a lower resolution of 2 MP compared to the A54’s 5 MP camera. The M54’s battery is also larger, boasting a 6,000 mAh capacity compared to the A54’s 5,000 mAh battery. Overall, the Galaxy M54 5G is a powerful mid-range smartphone that offers several notable upgrades over its predecessor.

The Galaxy M54 5G features a side-mounted fingerprint reader, which provides a convenient and secure way for users to unlock their devices. However, unlike the Galaxy A54 5G, the M54 does not come with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, which may be a consideration for some users.

Additionally, the M54 5G is equipped with a single speaker instead of stereo speakers, which is another feature that sets it apart from its sibling, the Galaxy A54 5G.

Given that the Galaxy M54 5G has been included on Samsung’s official website, it is expected to make its way to other markets soon. Although the exact release date and pricing in other regions are still unknown, the appearance of the phone on the website suggests that it will be available in additional markets in the near future.

As more information becomes available, we will continue to keep you updated on the latest news and details about the Galaxy M54 5G.
