After rolling out the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS update for the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi and GSM capable T-Mobile branded Google Nexus S handsets, the search giant has announced on its Google+ page that they also started pushing out the Android 4.0.4 ICS update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus GSM handset. Sorry, no luck for Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE handsets yet. But, it is being heard that Galaxy Nexus LTE will be getting Android 4.0.5 in the coming weeks or else the same Android 4.0.4 build will be rolled out in the coming days. Sprint Nexus 4G owners have been rocking the leaked Android 4.0.4 ICS build since late January.
Android 4.0.4 ICS update is also carrying the stability improvements, better camera performance, smoother screen rotation, improved phone number recognition and more features.
An OTA notification alert should notify on your handset’s screen asking you to accept the update and install it. If the update fails to reach your handset yet, you can try to pull the OTA update by hitting up the Menu –> Settings > About Phone –> System Updates if you found any update, Choose “Restart & install” button and follow the on-screen instructions till the download process of the update and installation process finished successfully.
