Samsung announced Galaxy Pop in Korea

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Pop in Korea. The device is popularly known as Samsung Galaxy Premier which was already announced back in October, last year. Even though the handset was already available in Europe, there’s a difference in their specification. This newly announced Galaxy Pop comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core Processor but the Galaxy Premier was packed with a dual-core 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor.

The new Galaxy Pop will have a 4.65-inch Super HD AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels of resolution and 1GB of RAM, and will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS out of the box. There’s an 8 megapixel rear camera on back to record 1080p HD videos, a 2MP front-facing camera, 8GB or 16GB internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC. There’s a 2,100mAh battery to run the handset.

In addition, the Galaxy Pop will have TouchWiz UI, and comes preinstalled with S Beam, Smart Stay, Direct Call, Pop-Up Play, S Voice, Best Photo apps and more.

The device bearing model number, SHV-E220S will be available in different colors to fit your personality. It will be available in white color as of now but Samsung will be offering it in gray, orange, and other colors as well. The handset will be available for 700,000 won (around $645) with a free flip cover. Coming to the carrier, the handset is expected to be heading to SKT, KT and LGU+ networks.
