Few weeks ago, Japanese manufacturer Sony announced a service called “my Xperia” for their Xperia mobile owners. By using this service, you locate get your lost device easily. But the previous announced service was in the beta stage and it was available in Nordic regions on select 2012 Sony Smartphones running Android 4.0 ICS, starting with the Sony Xperia acro S.
But this time, the update is not in the beta stage. It means the service has been tested and secured. It is reported that the my Xperia service is now rolling out to the Sony Xperia V and Xperia S smartphone users in Sweden. The version of the app is 0.0.A.0.37 and its size is 2.9 MB.
This service can be activated in your phone’s settings by using a Google Account. Then you can log in to Sony’s my Xperia website and locate your Sony Xperia smartphone on a map when your smartphone is lost or stolen.
Even though the manufacturer is now offering the service only for these smartphones as of now, the service is expected to come to other Xperia smartphones in the second quarter of this year. We’ll keep you posted.
