Sony has starting Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update rollout for Xperia go, Xperia U and Xperia sola. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks in markets globally. The update will also include Sony’s new media applications and additional features.

The changes expected in the features and functionality in your phone after the update are:
# New Sony’s media applications – “WALKMAN”, “Album” and “Movies”
# Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to four times
# Lock screen with improved functionality
# Resizable widgets for improved personalization
# Improved control of your mobile data consumption
# Recent Apps button for a clear overview of your applications

For Sony Xperia sola users, a unique feature called the “Glove Mode” is also added in the update. It’s an exciting feature which enables you to use your Xperia sola in the cold whilst wearing gloves.

The rollout began on Friday and it will continue over the weekend and is expected to complete in major regions with next few days. In order to receive the updates, you will need to connect your Xperia to a PC or Mac. Detailed instructions are given at Sony Mobile official site.
