The U.S. wireless carrier Sprint has announced its new music service offering app, the Sprint Music Plus app, powered by RealNetworks. This app can be accessed via the carrier’s website on Android and BlackBerry handsets, letting the users to purchase DRM-free, MP3 music tracks, ringback tones and ringtones, each starting at just $0.69 to $1.29 and all your purchases will be counted on your Sprint wireless bill.
Playlists can be created and new content can be recommended based on prior purchases. Sprint notes that the users will have the ability to bundle ringtones, ringback tones, and full music tracks into one purchase for additional savings.
Sprint writes that the Sprint Music Plus app is available for Android powered Sprint smartphones from the Sprint Zone app and can be found on the home screen of BlackBerry and Java Feature Phones launched after May 2010 and these handsets will have access to ringtones and ringback tones from Sprint Music Plus via Sprint Mobile Web (WAP)”
