The T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy Note II phablet is now in the process of receiving a new OTA software update, that brings various bug fixes. This update fixes the annoying Exynos 4 exploit, which allows any app to root and gain full access to Exynos 4 powered systems. It’s good to see this fix start rolling out to Note II devices. Sammy has already rolled out the same fix for the U.K. based Galaxy S III handsets
There also appear to be a small number of unexplained bug fixes. This is a minor update, weighing in 9MB of size. The build number will get bump to T889YVALL4 from T889YVALK8.
The Magenta carrier has made the update available via both the over-the-air system, as well as Samsung’s Kies desktop program. If you want to pull the software OTA, head into Settings > About device > Software update to see if it’s available on your handset before looking through Kies. Or else, you can connect your device to a PC via USB and use Kies tool to download the update.
