Twitter For Android Updated With Support For Multiple Accounts, Push Notifications

If you are an avid Twitter user and use the Twitter’s Android app on your mobile phone, you will be pleased to know that Twitter for Android has now been updated with some of the most requested features of late. Twitter for Android now supports multiple Twitter accounts and pushes notifications to your mobile phone.

Push notifications allows you to receive instant notifications whenever you receive a new Direct Message (DM), @Mention from anyone and the tweet updates.  You can go to Account Settings > and choose Automatic Refresh and select the type of updates (DM, @mentions or tweets) for which you want to receive push notifications.

The second important addition to the features of the app is the inclusion of support for handling multiple Twitter accounts. You can add multiple accounts within the app and can easily switch between the accounts without ever logging out. Up until now, Android users had to use third party Twitter clients like TweetDeck (which is now acquired by Twitter) to enjoy these features.

Apart from these major improvements, Twitter has also updated the home screen widget along with some improvements and usual bug fixes in the version 2.1.0.
