Xiaomi Civi 2 launched in China for ¥2,399 (~$335)

Xiaomi has been continuously teasing the latest Civi phone medal and it even went as far as showcasing it in invitation posters. Finally the manufacture has unveiled the new Xiaomi Civi 2 in China today. As we said earlier, the handset indeed has a pill-shaped, Apple inspired cutout for the selfie cameras at the top center of the screen.

Flaunting in a thin and light form factor, the Xiaomi Civi 2 boasts a Full HD+ 10-bit AMOLED 58° curved display panel with 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision integration. Looks wise, this device barrows the design of the Redmi K50 and Xiaomi 12 series. There is a triple camera setup housed in a big rectangular island on back side of the device.

Specs wise, it has a 6.55-inch curved OLED display with FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, supporting up to 800 nits peak brightness level, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The display panel s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Previous gen Civi and Civi 1S were powered by Snapdragon 778G and Snapdragon 778G+ respectively. So this time, the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset brings a slightly faster CPU for the Civi 2 handset with a customized stainless steel 2387mm² VC liquid cooling along with 6200mm² graphite.

The camera trio on the back has the a 50MP rear camera with Sony IMX766 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, 20MP 115° ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP macro module with f/2.4 aperture. On front, the device comes equipped with dual 32MP front cameras inside the punch-hole – a 32MP AF front-facing camera with f/2.0 main camera, and another 32MP 100° ultra-wide secondary camera, Multi-color temperature Quad LED flash. Xiaomi claims users will be greeted with DSLR-like portrait blur, Bionic eyes imitating human eye to achieve delicate blurring and offers up to 256 layers of depth information.

Other remaining features such as 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, GPS (L1 + L5), are also available on board. It will be backed up by a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging speeds and it will shipped in Ice Blue or Pink Black color and an exclusive White co-branded Hello Kitty model.

As of now, it will be available to order in China only. There is no concrete information about the global arrival of this headset yet.
