Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R Pro w/ 120Hz OLED Debuts on April 29

On April 29, Redmi, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, will introduce a new addition to the Redmi Note 12 lineup. The new device will be called the Redmi Note 12R Pro. The company has revealed that the device will be equipped with a 120Hz Samsung OLED display and SGS certification for low blue light eye protection.

In addition, the company has also released a promotional poster showcasing the phone’s design and available color options. As per the image, the back panel of the device will house a rectangular camera module which includes two cameras and an LED flash.

The Redmi Note 12R Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset and will be equipped with 5G connectivity. The device will also feature 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, although there is a possibility that additional memory options may be available, but are yet to be confirmed.

The Redmi Note 12R Pro’s design appears to be reminiscent of the Redmi Note 12 5G that was unveiled in China last year. The same phone was also launched in India earlier this year, albeit with some modifications to the camera. Hence, it is plausible that the Redmi Note 12R Pro is an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 12 5G with additional RAM and storage.

As you can see in the above image, the poster is showcasing the design and color choices of the Redmi Note 12R Pro. The poster gives us a glimpse of the phone’s rear side which boasts a rectangular camera module featuring two cameras and an LED flash. The primary camera features a 48MP sensor, while the role of the secondary camera is yet to be confirmed. It is possible that it could be a depth sensor or a macro unit, but no official announcement has been made as of yet.

On the right-hand side of the Redmi Note 12R Pro, you can find a set of buttons including the volume rocker and power button. It is believed that the power button will also function as a fingerprint scanner, despite the presence of an OLED screen from Samsung. This is because no other smartphone in the Redmi Note 12 series has an in-display fingerprint reader.

We can expect to learn more about the phone’s specs, features, and pricing during its official launch on April 29.
