ZTE Flash To Hit Sprint in October; 720p Display, S4 CPU, 12MP Camera In Tow

ZTE Flash For Sprint

Rounding out the list of various Android handsets for which details emerged these days, it looks like ZTE will be also releasing an Android handset for Sprint in the U.S. The new ZTE Flash is decidedly a high-end spec’d phone, expected to hit stores on October.

Here’s the list of the features of the ZTE Flash:

# Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich with custom ZTE UI on top of it
# 4.5-inch HD IPS touchscreen with 1280×720 pixels of resolution
# Gorilla Glass
# 12.6 megapixels rear-facing camera + 1MP front-facing snapper
# 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual-core processor
# 4G LTE capability
# 8GB onboard storage, microSD card slot support
# NFC, Bluetooth 4.0
# 1780mAh battery
# 1GB RAM
# 9.6mm thickness

That’s a pretty impressive specs sheet for an Android handset from the manufacturer like ZTE, which is popular phone mid range Androids. But the phone might be treated as budget phone when it finally hit the stores, because it’ll have to stack up with the upcoming quad-core phones or else it could be a good competitor for the current popular devices such as Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE. However, this device should make for a nice addition to Sprint’s 4G LTE lineup, especially for customers in the market for a phone with a larger 720p HD display and a good camera. According to the leak, the ZTE Flash is set to release on October 14th, so it is expected to ship preinstalled Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Stay tuned for more info.
