Windows Phone Colombia reports that the long awaited Windows Phone 7.8 Update will begin rolling out on January.31st for “some phones”. Telstra also confirmed Lumia 800 will get the WP7.8 update on Jan.31st, and O2 UK says it will be distributed by the end of this month.
Nokia Italy has tweeted that the Windows Phone 7.8 update will be begin rolling out in the coming days for the users who are currently rocking Windows Phone 7/7.5 OS powered handsets.
Microsoft has officially confirmed that the Windows Phoen 7 owners will have to wait till early next year to get the long awaited Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade for their devices.

The first Windows Phone 7.8 beta ROM for HTC HD7 is now live and ready to be downloaded though like all custom ROMs you need to pay attention too, including the fact is that this has not yet been widely tested. For the most part, it looks like us just get a new Start screen but it’s too early to tell.
