According to Euro Asus Facebook account, the company has started rolling out a new firmware update for its Eee Pad Transformer tablet. The new firmware update is carrying the software version number HTK75 with a new build number 220.127.116.11. The new software update includes many of the new features like App Backups and it will come with pre-installed Netflix for United States users. This update is also bringing the many bug fixes and other enhancements. The tablet is still running with Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb OS version. Asus has promised to bring Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS update soon. Asus will launch the first ever quad-core chipset equipped tablet, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime on November 9th. According to the changelog of the new firmware update 18.104.22.168 for Transformer posted on Facebook, the new update will get the following features:
# Addition of the Backup app – This feature has been added to allow back up non-Asus App and app data and same can be restored on any of the Asus tablet.
# Netflix services have been added. Netflix is the popular video on demand service (for folks in the US only – TF101, SL101).
# Improved Wi-Fi connectivity.
# Fix for the version 22.214.171.124 mobile dock abnormal battery consumption issue.
# Google Maps app gets transit navigation and other improvements.
# Addition of an option to turn ON/OFF Asus Sync and a fix for notification issues.
# You can now download the zip files directly through email.
# MyNet app improves the device search.
# Improvements compatibility for Browser.
# Performance improvement and Compatibility improvement with Polaris Office.
# Italian input method has been updated.
# Supports large file loading.
# Update for Andorid Market app.
# Bug fix for Supernote app.
Get ready to start checking the software updates option in you Asus Transformer tablet. The OTA (over-the-air) update should be showing up soon. Or else, you can try pull the update from the air by heading over to Settings –> About Tablet –> and hit System Updates button.
