Samsung Galaxy Note II Split Screen Mode

A few days ago, Samsung showcased a new YouTube video, highlighting a new feature called “Multi Window” for the brand new Galaxy Note II phablet. This awesome feature lets you to run two apps simultaneously, with a split-screen display. Samsung has already shipped million numbers of the Galaxy Note II phablets with incomplete software and missing features including the “multi-windows” ability. Thanks to Samsung. The manufacturer has started rolling out a new update, bringing the the promised split-screen mode for the Samsung Galaxy Note II handset.

Software version bumps up to N7100XXALIJ1. The new Multi-Window mode for Galaxy Note II supports Samsung-made own apps, a wide range of Google apps including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Google Titles, Chrome browser and the official Twitter app (no idea about other popular apps). The same split-screen mode is supported for only Samsung apps on the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. This split screen multitasking is a must have feature and it is one of the benefits of the Galaxy Note II. The update also brings a new baseband version and Google chrome.


Galaxy Note II is having certainly big enough space on its 5.5-inch HD screen for such an amazing feature, and you’d love to have it on your phone and you will be excited about the Note II than ever before. You should be seeing the notification alerts on your phone asking you to accept the new update. If you are yet to receive the update, you can manually check for the update by heading into Settings –> About device –> Software update and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the upgrading process.

Users from UK or France can also download the new firmware by using Samsung’s own Kies tool. The source has provided full downloads of N7100XXALJ1 build for the Note II devices in France and UK regions.

Hopefully, this feature will come preinstalled with U.S. carrier versions of the Galaxy Note II handsets, which are expected hit the U.S. soil on October 24th.
