Galaxy A34 5G spotted on Geekbench with Dimensity 1080 SoC

Samsung is preparing to launch a bunch of mid-range Andre handsets very soon, and the next installment in the “A” series will be the Galaxy A34 5G, which rumor has it would launch in India very very soon, presumably on January 18th. It was seen in a leaked render yesterday, and most of the key specs were already revealed.

The first performance result from the Galaxy A34 5G has been discovered in the Geekbench database. The run reveals the Samsung, model number SM-A346B, using the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, as evidenced by the motherboard, a34x, and it’s based on the 6nm process with eight CPU cores – 2x Cortex-A78 clocked at up to 2.6GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 clocked at up to 2GHz.

The handset spotted running with Android 13 (undoubtedly with One UI 5.0 on top) and has 6GB of RAM onboard, although there would be another memory option that is yet to be confirmed. It achieved a 786 single-core score and a 2,294 multi-core score in Geekbench 5. We should keep in mind that the device used for benchmarking isn’t a final retail unit, so actual scores will likely differ.

Based on the rumored specs, the Galaxy A34 will bring a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 5MP macro unit, and 13MP selfie camera. It also comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W charging, and also expected to retain the IP67 water/dust resistance.

To recall, its predecessor, the Galaxy S33 was launched with 6.4-inch display, 2MP depth sensor, and offered with 6GB of RAM as base configuration.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 is expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy 54 5G, Galaxy A24 5G, Galaxy A14 5G for Indian markets. The company is also expected to launch another mid-ranger Galaxy A23 5G in India, which was already launched six months ago in the US.
