Two weeks ago, Best Buy has started offering ‘secret’ pre-orders for the newfangled 3D capable smartphone that was made official at CTIA event – the highly anticipated HTC EVO 3D. According to a latest leaked memo, we can say that RadioShack has also joined the game to accept the pre-orders for the EVO 3D starting from today, May 17th, and there is no word on an official launch date. We’ve also reported that some sources are speculating that Sprint related retail stores (in Gainesville FL) are taking HTC EVO 3D pre-orders.
Don’t expect RadioShack to set up some prmotional ads in the front of the store just yet. RadioShack employees have been restricted by the company that they shouldn’t promote the HTC EVO 3D pre-order, unless a customer specifically asks about the Sprint smartphone. But RadioShack will be happy to help you out. Takers can reserve the HTC EVO 3D smartphone by purchasing a $50 RadioShack Gift Card. You can then redirect the gift card towards the total cost.
If 3D technology isn’t impressing very much, but the HTC EVO 3D’s other specs are more than impressive enough to attract the customers. The HTC EVO 3D is the first glasses-free 3D 4G device coming to Sprint, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and is presented by Sprint as America’s first smartphone to feature a qHD (960 x 540) 3D 4.3-inch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Other features include Sense UI, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual 5MP photo camera around the back side, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1080p video recording in 2D and 720p in 3D capability, 1GB RAM, and 4GB of on-board storage space.
