iQOO Neo 7 goes official with Dimensity 8200 SoC and 120HZ AMOLED Display

As expected earlier, Vivo’s sister brand iQOO capped off an event earlier today where it brought over its latest mid-range smartphone – the iQOO Neo 7, to the Indian markets. The iQOO Neo 7 handset comes as the successor to previous-gen Neo 6, and it is the rebranded version of the iQOO Neo 7 SE which was launched back on December 8 in China.

The iQOO Neo 7 comes in two colors: Interstellar Black and Frost Blue, priced at ₹29,999 ($360) for 8GB + 128GB version and the 12GB + 256GB version costs ₹33,999 ($410).

It has the same design and same hardware as the China exclusive iQOO Neo 7 SE from last year. The Neo 7 from iQOO is HDR10+ certified, and it packs a 6.78-inch OLED with a 1080 x 2400px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and its peak brightness goes up to 1,300 nits. The Neo 7 is a gaming phone, rather than a camera phone. It has 1,200Hz instant mode, along with motion controls in Ultra Game Mode, which leverage the gyroscope and accelerometer. You will be taking advantage of the six different motions: left hand lifting, right hand lifting, left leaning, right leaning, horizontal forward pressing and horizontal backward pressing.

The motion control feature is supported by the New State game, Call of Duty Mobile (which supports the Ultra graphics setting). Furthermore, you can play the games at 90fp. Battlegrounds Mobile India will gain support for 90fps soon (should be done by the end of March).

Most of the upgrades are focused on the internals, with a 4nm Dimensity 8200 powering the phone. The chipset is paired up with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for handling the graphics department, and it has four Cortex-A78 cores, one of which runs at up to 3.1GHz, the other three peak at 3.0GHz, plus four A55 cores at 2.0GHz.

For the camera department, the Neo7 has an ISOCELL GW3 – a 64MP 1/1.97” sensor based on ISOCELL 2.0 tech. The primary camera is joined by a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP front-facing camera. Connectivity features are including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, NFC, GPS, and a USB-C port.

The 5,000mAh battery, which supports FlashCharge system with 120W wired fast charging speeds that will top it to 50% in just 10 minutes, and a full 1-100% charge can be completed in 25 minutes — that is pretty fast. To recall, the last year’s Neo6’s 80W has fast charging system that needed 12 minutes and 32 minutes, respectively.

The device comes with up to 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. Users can add 8 more virtual gigabytes using the Extended RAM 3.0 feature. It features a heat dissipation system and an X-Axis linear motor, and boots FuntouchOS 13 system (based on Android 13). iQOO confirms that the Neo7 will be updated to Android 15, and it will be receiving security patches every couple of months for three years.

The Neo 7 smartphone is now available for purchase in India starting at 1 PM today (February 16) through Amaozn.in and iQOO’s official website. HDFC, ICICI, and SBI credit and debit card holders will get an instant discount of ₹1,500 on the purchase of any model. You will also get Extra Rs. 2000 off on exchange and up to 9 months no cost EMI
