We have previously reported that Motorola is preparing to announce its highly anticipated new flagship Android phone, Motorola X phone at this year’s Google I/O in May. Today, according to a new report, Hugh Bradlow, Chief Technology Officer for Telstra Telecommunications Limited has stated that the upcoming Motorola X phone is a “real breakthrough, a game changer that will put pressure on Samsung and Apple”.

It is also reported that the X phone will have software features and capabilities that are not available on Samsung smartphones or Apple devices. The Software is really powerful and it will come together with Google services that are not offered by any manufacturer so far.

The device is expected to come with a 5-inch edge-to-edge display but it is likely smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S III. The device will reportedly be showcased at Google I/O in May.

Two weeks ago, the Motorola X phone was claimed to sport a Kevlar body to make it more durable just like its recent offerings of Motorola Droid series. It is expected to pack RAZR MAXX–like powerful battery, which will lets the handset to last up to “several road trip hours on a charge with the GPS software constantly on”, or at least as long as it’s able to last up to a full day of use.

The device seems to be running Google mobile OS’s future version Android 5.0.0, rumored to be named Key Lime Pie. The Motorola X phone is rumored to be available on July 8 and is claimed to be available for $299 by signing a contract agreement with Verizon. The device is expected to be heading to other carriers as well.

We’ll let you know if there is any report regarding the upcoming Motorola X phone.
