O2 Dell Streak to get Froyo

O2 UK has managed successfully to update Android 2.2 Froyo on Dell Streak tablets in this week itself. O2 members over their Twitter account page announced that “Great news for our Dell Streak owners – the 2.2 Froyo update is coming this week!” Dell Streak has actually launched with Android 1.6 Donut, later they upgraded to Android 2.1 Eclair, which gives 720p video recording capability to the Dell Streak and now these tablets will be getting Froyo updates.

Unlocked Dell Streak devices have already running with Froyo since last month. AT&T announced yesterday that it will start seeding Froyo update to AT&T SIM-locked Dell Streak tablets at some time next year.

Froyo updates to the O2’s Streak tablets brings some improvisation to apps performance and enable Adobe flash player 10.1 compatibility in the browser, new Android Market with a new overhaul UI, colored settings icons, media hub, new Gmail application, pinch-to-zoom homescreen flyover, improved default keyboard, speed improvements and much more.

Specs wise, Streak comes with 5” WVGA capacitive touch display with Gorilla Glass display, 1 GHz Qualcomm processor, 5 Megapixels rear camera & a front facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.2, USB 2.0.
