Rogers Canada will reportedly be offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One for $169 and $149 respectively. The devices will be available with a three-year contract. Both the high-end smartphones will be launched on April 19.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and it is packed with a 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, 441PPI, powered by Exynos 5410 1.8GHz Octa-core processor/Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core procesor, 2GB of RAM, PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU, a 13 megapixel Auto-Focus rear-facing camera with Zero shutter lag, 2 megapixels front-facing camera with 1080p video calling support, MHL 2.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, NFC functionality, IR blaster, and a powerful 2,600mAh battery.
The HTC One is powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS with Sense 5.0 on top of it, sporting a 4.7-inch LCD 3 Full HD display with 1080 pixels of resolution, 469 ppi, 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 32- GPU, a 4 megapixel “Ultrapixel” camera sensor with a larger sensor and larger pixels, 4G NFC chip, LTE connectivity, micro USB 2.0, 802.11 Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2300mAh non-removable battery, and more.
Besides the above smartphones, Rogers will be offering the Sony Xperia Z next week for $99 with a three year contract.
In the US, AT&T and US Cellular will carry the Galaxy S4 and start taking pre-order for the devices on April 16. T-Mobile will start carrying the device from May 1. But, Verizon and Sprint are mum regarding the availability of the Samsung Galaxy S4 on their respective networks.
