Sony Xperia S Appears At FCC With AT&T Bands

Newly announced Sony Xperia S Android phone has been making news about its dirt resistant casing and a fast-recharging battery. The manufacturer has officially introduced the Xperia S handset at CES 2012 event, but left us with many questions about its carrier availability, release date and other details. A recent filling at FCC by Sony Xperia S handsets suggests that there’s a chance that it is heading to release on AT&T network, but for now it’s just a hope.

Sony Xperia S handset has visited the FCC, packing the proper bands for AT&T’s 3G connectivity under the hood. AT&T is already prepping to release the 4G LTE capable Sony Xperia Ion in the coming months. So, the Xperia S handset is expected to be joining its brother with AT&T branding in the United States. Or else you can grab the unlocked version of the Sony Xperia S with AT&T 3G bands for an off-contract price value. Sony Xperia S handset has been confirmed to release on Three, O2 and Phones4U networks in the U.K. by this March.

Sony Xperia S comes with Android 2.3.x Gingerbread OS and will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS inthe near future. Other features are including a 4.3-inch 720p Reality Display with 1280 X 720 pixels of resolution, 1.5Ghz dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 12MP camera with Exmor R sensor on back side, front-facing HD shooter, 32GB eMMC, no micro SD card slot, NFC functionality, Bluetooth 2.0, NFC, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, ANT+.
