Leaked Xperia 5 V Specs Reveal 48 MP Camera and Compact Design

Xperia 5 V Specs Leaked

Sony recently introduced the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V, and it appears that yet another Xperia phone is on its way to the market. Reported specifications of the purported Sony Xperia 5 V have emerged, suggesting that the compact smartphone will feature respectable but not overly impressive upgrades compared to its predecessor.

Several leaked specifications of the Xperia 5 V align with or closely resemble previous rumors about the device, which is said to include a 48 MP main camera sensor. Speculation suggests that this upcoming Xperia 5 Mark Five model may hit the market around October.

Sony Xperia 5 V Rumored Specs

An alleged insider has shared a compact but potentially unreliable list of essential Xperia 5 V specifications. For those who are eager to examine Sony’s interpretation of a smaller-sized smartphone, this particular report suggests that the Xperia 5 V will come equipped with a 6.1-inch FHD display. Notably, display specialist Ross Young previously mentioned that the “upcoming Sony Xperia compact” would have a measurement of approximately 6.05 inches, potentially indicating a slightly more compact form compared to its predecessor.

According to the leaked details, the Xperia 5 V is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm’s SM8550 platform, popularly referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Given the Xperia 5 series’ history of being trimmed-down versions of the larger Xperia 1 lineup, it is reasonable to anticipate that the 2023 Xperia 5 will closely resemble the Sony Xperia 1 V in terms of primary specifications.

As per the leak, the Xperia 5 V is anticipated to receive a camera upgrade, featuring a triple camera configuration consisting of a 12 MP f2.2 16 mm lens, a 48 MP f1.9 24 mm lens, and a 12 MP f2.4 60 mm lens. This would mark a notable improvement over the Xperia 5 IV, potentially adopting the 48 MP Sony Exmor T sensor found in this year’s Xperia 1 V. In terms of performance, the upcoming 2023 model is rumored to offer either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, with the latter specification previously appearing in Geekbench records. Storage options are expected to remain unchanged at 128 GB and 256 GB, while the battery capacity will reportedly stay at 5,000 mAh, matching that of the Xperia 5 IV.

However, it is worth noting that the leaked information may have been rounded up or, naturally, could be of dubious authenticity and should be taken with a grain of salt until officially confirmed by Sony.. Nonetheless, the post begins with the disclaimer of “nothing particularly thrilling,” lending credibility to the anticipated specifications that typically differentiate Xperia 5 models across generations.
