Pixel Tablet’s Price, Release Date, and Specs Leaked by Amazon

The anticipation for Google’s Pixel Tablet has been building for quite some time now. Initially revealed at I/O 2022, there have been several leaks and rumors surrounding the device over the past year. With this year’s Google I/O just around the corner, excitement is mounting as we eagerly await news of all the upcoming hardware from the tech giant. In the latest leak, we’ve been treated to information regarding the release date, pricing, and specifications of the Pixel Tablet.

An Amazon Japan listing, which has since been taken down, appears to have revealed the release date, pricing details, and specifications of Google’s highly anticipated Pixel Tablet. A bunch of few Japanese publication websites and several users on Twitter were able to view the listing before it was taken down.

The Amazon listing indicated that the tablet would be released in Japan on June 20th, and also included images of the device in two different color options: Porcelain and Hazel. The listing revealed key specs such as the display size, resolution, and battery capacity, providing a glimpse into what we can expect from Google’s upcoming hardware.

According to the leaked information, the Pixel Tablet’s price will be ¥79,800 (approximately $591) for the 128GB (UFS 3.1) storage variant. This aligns with an earlier leak from last month that estimated the European pricing to be between €600-650 (approximately $657 to $711). The device is said to feature a built-in battery with a capacity of 27 Wh, offering up to 12 hours of video streaming.

The listing confirmed that the Pixel Tablet would feature Tensor G2 paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, as previously reported. It was also revealed that there would be two storage options, with the other option being 256GB.

The Pixel Tablet listing further disclosed that the device will come with a 10.95-inch 2560×1600 LCD screen with 500 nits of brightness. As for the camera, the tablet will be equipped with an 8MP front and rear cameras, and it will feature a “quad-speaker” system, three microphones, Bluetooth 5.2, and Ultrawide Band (UWB), which was already confirmed by the FCC.

It seems that Google is taking a staggered approach to its hardware launches, with the Pixel Tablet reportedly set for release in June and the Pixel 7a expected to launch in the coming week. This strategy is evident by the fact that the Pixel 7a has already been spotted in retail locations, whereas the Pixel Tablet has remained under wraps until now. It is unclear whether the Pixel Fold will launch alongside the Pixel Tablet.

By adopting this tiered approach, Google can focus on promoting each device separately and ensuring that they receive the attention they deserve. The Pixel Tablet is poised to be a significant release for Google, as it marks the company’s first entry into the tablet market in several years. With its powerful specs and sleek design, the Pixel Tablet is sure to attract a lot of attention from tech enthusiasts and casual users alike.

We can expect to learn more about Google’s hardware plans at the upcoming I/O 2023 event, where the company is expected to unveil several new devices and services. Google has a strong track record of using its annual developer conference to showcase new hardware, and this year’s event promises to be no exception. Whether you are interested in the Pixel Tablet, Pixel 7a, or any of Google’s other upcoming devices, there is sure to be something for everyone at I/O 2023.
